From Harvard Square to the Jamaica Plain Contra Dance via Public Transportation. Note that buses do not make change. You will either need exact change or be willing to fold up your dollar bill and tuck it in the slot in the side of the cash box.

Method 1, via subway
1. Get on the Red line ($1.25) at Harvard Square and take it Inbound toward Park Street.
2. At Downtown Crossing (one station past Park Street), get off and change to the Orange line headed toward Forest Hills. (Turn right as you get off the train and walk all the way to the end of the hall before you go upstairs.)
3. Take the train all the way to the end at Forest Hills.
4. As you exit the turnstiles, turn left and exit the station. Directly ahead, before you cross under the highway overpass, is the stop for the #39 bus ($0.90).
5. Take this to the intersection of South and Centre Streets.

Method 2, via bus
1. Catch the #66 bus ($0.90) at "Dawes Island" a traffic island where Garden Street meets Massachusetts Avenue. BE SURE TO ASK FOR A TRANSFER.
2. Take the bus through Brookline Village to Huntington Avenue. (About half an hour.)
3. Cross Huntington Avenue and catch the #39 bus toward Forest Hills. Get off at 775 Centre Street.

Whichever method you use, you will see a Civil War monument in a traffic island. Facing it will be a large stone church. Around the right side of the church (as you face it) is the Parish Hall where the dance is held.
